PRP & MICRONEEDLING
THE POWER OF PLASMA
PRP and Microneedling: The Ultimate Duo for Rejuvenation
At Fix Me Up Medical Spa, we are dedicated to bringing you the most advanced treatments in aesthetic medicine. We proudly introduce the synergy of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Microneedling – a combination that taps into your body’s natural healing process to rejuvenate, renew, and restore.
What is PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma, commonly known as PRP, is a concentrate of platelet-rich plasma derived from your own blood. Rich in growth factors and proteins, PRP can promote collagen production, skin tightening, and overall rejuvenation.
Benefits of PRP:
- Accelerates healing and regeneration.
- Enhances the results of other aesthetic procedures.
- Harnesses the body’s natural healing capabilities.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a procedure that uses tiny, sharp needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin. This process stimulates the skin’s natural healing response, leading to increased collagen and elastin production.
Benefits of Microneedling:
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Improves skin texture and tone.
- Diminishes scars, acne marks, and stretch marks.
- Enhances product absorption.
Combining PRP with Microneedling
When used in conjunction with Microneedling, PRP acts as a potent serum that penetrates deep into the skin. The growth factors in PRP boost the skin’s natural ability to heal, amplifying the benefits of Microneedling. Together, they create a powerhouse treatment that results in:
- Radiant and youthful skin.
- Enhanced skin firmness and elasticity.
- Diminished signs of aging and damage.
Frequently Asked Questions
During Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Microneedling, a vial of the patient’s blood is extracted from their arm. Following this, the blood is entered into a centrifuge, separating the plasma from the red and white blood cells.
The remaining plasma contains high volumes of platelets, which are the part of the blood responsible for “growth factors.” As such, the plasma is then injected into the face, either through microneedling, or with a fine syringe.
The microneedling PRP facial procedure requires very little blood, with only 10cc of blood required to complete.
PRP Microneedling came to be known as the “vampire facial” when social media icons such as Kim Kardashian and Bar Rafaela posted photos of themselves following the procedure with shocking amounts of blood on their faces.
While the image of a bloody face may appear disturbing to some, there is actually no pain or danger involved in the so-called “Vampire Facial” at all. When discussing PRP microneedling at our Englewood, NJ Medical Spa, we prefer to avoid using such colorful terminology to describe the procedure in favor of it’s correct medical name: the Platelet Rich Plasma Facial.
During PRP Microneedling, fine, sterile needles are used to create a series of tiny piercings in the skin. This allows for the platelet rich plasma to reach deeper below the skin. Through this process, the skin is stimulated, increasing levels of collagen and elastin and leaving patients with a smoother, fuller-looking face.
Yes, PRP facials are safe. Since the procedure uses plasma from your own body, you don’t need to worry about allergic reactions. There is no surgery involved. The main risks are temporary bruising around the treatment area and minor discomfort during the blood draw. Also, because there is no laser energy being used, it is safe for all skin types!
Nearly any adult who wants to improve the appearance of their skin is a candidate for a PRP microneedling facial! If you are interested in exploring this course of treatment or are looking for a provider in Los Angeles or Orange County, CA reach out to Fix Me Up Medical Spa
PRP Microneedling is idea for removing lines and wrinkles, as well as filling in lines that have developed around the mouth or between the eyes. PRP microneedling leaves patients with plumper faces and brighter skin. Additionally, PRP microneedling can be used to remove scars caused by acne and to erase dark spots on the skin.
At our Burbank Medical Spa, we pride ourselves on providing a practically painless PRP microneedling procedure to our clients. And for patients concerned about any discomfort, topical anesthetic is available.
During PRP microneedling, a small amount of blood will remain on the surface of the skin, which can look alarming to some patients. But despite this, the face is not actually bleeding. The bloody outward appearance is simply a perfectly safe, painless side effect of the procedure, and is no cause for worry.
Patients need multiple initial PRP microneedling sessions to see their ideal results. To keep your results after this initial round of treatments, you may need to schedule maintenance sessions at least a couple of times per year. Ultimately, it depends on your body chemistry and the results you are looking for.
