Forehead Wrinkles
Forehead wrinkles result from aging and facial expressions. Botox relaxes underlying muscles, smoothing the skin for a more youthful look. It prevents new wrinkles too, making it a popular solution for rejuvenation.

Crow's Feet
Crows' feet wrinkles form around the eyes due to aging, expressions, and sun exposure. Botox treatment relaxes the muscles causing these lines, delivering a rejuvenated look. It's a popular, minimally invasive choice for smoothing crows' feet and achieving a natural, youthful appearance.

Frown Lines
Vertical lines that develop between the eyebrows from repeated facial expressions such as frowning, squinting, or concentrating. Botox helps relax these muscles, creating a smoother and more refreshed appearance.

What are the Best Uses for Botox?
Botox Can Treat More Than Just Wrinkles
Botox is best known for softening fine lines and wrinkles, but it can also be used to address a variety of cosmetic and therapeutic concerns.
Jawline Slimming
Botox can be injected into the masseter muscles to create a slimmer, more contoured lower face. This treatment is ideal for patients with enlarged jaw muscles caused by genetics, teeth grinding, or jaw clenching
Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)
Botox is FDA approved to treat excessive underarm sweating. By temporarily blocking the signals that activate sweat glands, Botox can significantly reduce sweating and improve daily comfort and confidence.
Lip Flip
A Botox Lip Flip uses small amounts of Botox to relax the muscles around the upper lip, allowing it to gently roll outward for a fuller appearance without adding volume with filler.
Brow Lift
Strategically placed Botox injections can create a subtle lift to the brows, helping open the eyes and create a more refreshed, youthful appearance.
Nefertiti Neck Lift & Platysmal Bands
As we age, the platysma muscles in the neck can become more prominent, creating visible vertical neck bands and contributing to a downward pull on the jawline and lower face. Botox can be strategically injected into these muscles to soften platysmal bands, improve jawline definition, and create a smoother, more youthful neck contour. Often referred to as the “Nefertiti Lift,” this treatment can provide a subtle lifting effect to the lower face and neck without surgery.
Bunny Lines
The small wrinkles that appear on the sides of the nose when smiling or scrunching the face can be softened with Botox for a smoother appearance.
DAO (Sad Smile Correction)
Botox can relax the depressor anguli oris (DAO) muscles, helping lift the corners of the mouth and create a more pleasant resting facial expression.
Frequently Asked Qestions
Botox is a cosmetic treatment that utilizes a purified form of botulinum toxin to temporarily relax muscles, resulting in the reduction of wrinkles and fine lines.
It works by blocking nerve signals to the injected muscles, causing them to relax. This relaxation softens wrinkles and lines caused by repeated facial movements.

While you may think that BOTOX and Dysport are virtually identical, they each have their own recommended applications and benefits. They are indeed both used to smooth out expression lines and wrinkles on the face, but their composition and behavior warrant use on different areas. BOTOX has been FDA-approved for many years, while Dysport has been widely in use in Europe but was not FDA-approved for use in the United States until 2009.
Although BOTOX and Dysport are both forms of botulinum toxin type A, the molecular structure and a slightly different formula are the key differences. Dysport contains smaller molecules than BOTOX, providing visible results faster than BOTOX. Because of the smaller molecules, Dysport also spreads over a larger area, which is beneficial in for some facial skin conditions – and not others. Spreading allows Dysport to be used for larger treatment areas, but also means that it cannot be applied precisely to small areas or to facial areas with a thicker muscle. BOTOX is more beneficial in smaller areas or thick muscles as its structure keeps it confined to a smaller area, providing a more precise treatment.
BOTOX is more concentrated than Dysport, meaning that the two compounds are measured differently. For example, fifty units of Dysport will be a different dosage than fifty units of BOTOX. If you have had BOTOX in the past, you will need to increase the number of units with Dysport. However, dilution does not impact the effectiveness of either injectable. You will simply need more Dysport to achieve similar results. Dysport costs less per unit than BOTOX, but as you need more of the product to get results, the total cost is very similar in the two treatments.
Once you arrive at our office, the practitioner will numb your injection sites with a topical anesthetic to ensure your comfort. BOTOX or Dysport is then injected into your skin using an ultra fine needle that is virtually free from sensation. Each injection session takes about 10-15 minutes on average. Results are fully realized in approximately 3-5 days.
It’s important to note that BOTOX and Dysport, while remarkably effective, do not provide permanent relief from the signs of aging. Injections should be repeated every 3-4 months to ensure worry-free skin is continuous. Our aestheticians will carefully review your results and monitor your progress at each follow up session. Remember that our practitioners are known for providing among the best BOTOX Burbank and Newport Beach has to offer.
